SCREENINGS:
We are thrilled to announce two FREE screenings of We Love You.

We are screening as part of the Woodstock Museum Film Festival during Labor Day weekend. The screening will be hosted by Nathan Koenig who contributed the Super 8mm pieces from the first Rainbow Gathering in 1972 used in We Love You. We are screening at 10PM, Saturday September 4th, @ Woodstock Town Hall, 76 Tinker Street, Woodstock New York. This should be a fun one!

We are also screening as part of the Lower East Side Film Festival. We will be screening in the Garden at 6th & B Friday July 23rd at 7:00PM. This screening will be hosted by We Love You Executive Producer, and long-time Rainbow, Joanee Freedom.

We are doing a theatrical run in Los Angeles. We are screening July 30 – August 5 at Lammele’s Fallbrook 7.

AWARDS:
We are super proud to announce that We Love You was a FINALIST in the 40th Annual U.S.A. Film Festival. This Academy® accredited festival was listed in Chris Gore’s ‘Best Short Film Festivals in the U.S. List” and has been around as long as the Rainbow Gatherings!

NEWS:
Mountainfilm Telluride was an amazing festival! With trails leading up to the mountains from town, a first class festival operation, and tremendous support from the community it really felt like “home” for a film about the Rainbow Gathering. Long-time Rainbow, host of the Annual Telluride Mushroom Festival, and County Commissioner Art Goodtimes joined us for the Q&A and did a chant with his two children, both conceived at Rainbow Gatherings, to open the screening at the Opera House. Look for pictures and maybe even video of that on the Facebook Group.

We have been continuing to shoot lots of amazing footage at Rainbow Gatherings. The question is . . . what to do with the footage? Feature length documentary? Webisodes? Music videos? TAG THE FACEBOOK page and tell us WHAT YOU THINK. We’ll just continue to have fun while we try to figure it out. See you in Washington State 2011.

PRESS:
The Jersey City Independent did a really nice Q&A in advance of the screening as part of the Hoboken Film Festival.

SCREENINGS
We are very pleased to announce that we are an official selection of MountainFilm Telluride! This esteemed festival now in its 32nd year celebrates film, adventure, culture and the environment. Their motto is “Celebrating the Indomitable Spirt” . Hhhmmm seems like the perfect place to screen a documentary about the Rainbow Gatherings! Check Mountainfilm Telluride for screening time and location.

Author Michael Niman who wrote the book “People of the Rainbow: A Nomadic Utopia” and Consulting Producer on “We Love You” is hosting a screening at Ani DiFranco’s performance space in Buffalo on May 20th. After the screening Michael Niman will lecture on the history of harassment the Rainbows have experienced by Federal Authorities.
Check Hallwalls for more info.

Hoboken Film Festival accepted us. Stay tuned for more details about our Hudson County premiere and the after-party or check The Hoboken Film Festival

PRESS
Jambands.com

If you prefer listening rather than reading Issue Oriented features a podcast interview. There is an interview before it so you might want to fast forward about half way through.
The New Jersey Film Festival is a 28 year long New Jersey tradition with a unique character to match the unique spirit of the Garden State. With its focus on intellect over celebrity, location at Rutger’s University, and meaningful programming, the New Jersey Film Festival is a gem, and we were proud to screen there for our hometown premiere.

We Love You has been selected by the New Jersey Film Festival! We are particularly proud to be a part of this 28 year old NJ tradition that has hosted world-recognized filmmakers such as Martin Scorsese and D.A. Pennebaker. The New Jersey Film Festival is organized by the Rutger’s Film Co-Op @ Rutger’s University Program in Cinema Studies where Director Jonathan Kalafer studied film as an undergrad.

We Love You has two screenings as part of the festival. The first screening is October 4th and the second is on October 9th. Both screenings start at 7PM in Scott Hall #123.

For more info go to The NJ Film Fest Website

Directions and Parking to Scott Hall #123 (Driving and Train)

43 College Ave., New Brunswick NJ. In addition to the lots mentioned below there are lots of parking spots along College Ave. and Hamilton St. Scott Hall is right across from the Grease Trucks. You enter from the Quad side (opposite of street side) of the building.

Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 9 and then take Route 18N (New Brunswick direction) and go for 2 1/2 miles to the College Avenue Campus/George Street exit (immediately after the Route 27S exit) and make a left at the light at the end of the exit ramp onto George Street, then go to the next light and make a right onto Hamilton Street, then go to the next light and make a right onto College Avenue. Almost immediately on your right hand side there is an University Parking Lot (#9) which is made available for our patrons to park in. Scott Hall is adjacent to the parking lot on the right. Patrons can also park in Rutgers Lots #1 (next to Kirkpatrick Chapel) and #16 (next to Murray and Milledoler Hall).

Take New Jersey Transit to the New Brunswick stop on the Northeast Corridor Line. Click here for a walking map from the train station to the entrance to the theatre. Walk is less-than ten minutes from the train station.

If you are hungry before or after the screenings try the New Brunswick/Rutger’s institution “The Grease Trucks” right across the street (College Ave.) from Scott Hall. These trucks are most well known for their “Fat Sandwiches” which are various combinations of every greasy fast food and french fries on a sub roll. There are many to choose from; some of them have offensive names, some are vegetarian, all are greasy. Maybe they will roll out a special one with popcorn, raisinettes, french fries, and pork roll . . .
